The Star

Back in October, Mariah Carey dropped her new single, "The Star," from the upcoming animated movie of the same name. On Thursday, the video was released.
The song is faith based, talking about the birth of Jesus, angels, and God being your guide.
The video features Carey walking in the desert and includes clips from the movie. The singer's twins Moroccan and Monroe (with ex-husband Nick Cannon) make a cameo toward the end, singing, "Follow your heart, it's Christmas.'
​I was initially disappointed that Mimi didn't include any of her trademark whistle register notes, but I understand that they can't be in every song.
One of the things I love the most about Mariah is the importance she places on her faith. She often mentions The Lord in her songs, which I think is great, especially with so much pop music being centered around sex.
This single is just what the world needed to be reminded that Mariah Carey is still the Queen and shows no sign of removing her crown.
