Never Forget
Kenneth Branagh's film adaption of "Murder on the Orient Express" is a fantastic film with a great score. The orchestral pieces are a pleasure to listen to and integral to the telling of the story. However, the song that stood out for me wasn't an orchestration, it was the song featured in the closing credits.
"Never Forget" was sung by Michelle Pfeiffer (who plays Mrs. Hubbard in the film.) It is such a beautiful song. It's melancholic and gentle lyrics fit in so well with the overall story (no spoilers!) and Michelle Pfeiffer has the singing ability to pull it off. She mixes a beautiful voice with perfect acting: sadness, longing, reminiscense, fondness....and delivers a song that will bring tears to your eyes -- especially after watching the movie.
Pfeiffer is not well known for her singing despite starring in two musicals -- "Grease 2" and "Hairspray," and singing in "The Fabulous Baker Boys," and "Prince of Egypt."
