The Crow: Reborn

"The Crow" is getting the reboot treatment. The dark fantasy/action film -- released in 1994 -- was based off of the 1989 graphic novel by James O'Barr. It starred Brandon Lee -- the son of Bruce Lee -- in his final appearance. He was killed in an accident involving the dummy bullets used in one of the gun sequences.
"The Crow" tells the story of Eric Draven, a guitarist that is brought back from the dead by a crow to avenge the murder of himself and his fiancée the night before their wedding.
The original film became a cult classic and spawned three sequels: "The Crow: City of Angels" in 1996, "The Crow: Salvation" in 2000, and "The Crow: Wicked Prayer" in 2003, as well as a short-lived television adaption entitled, "The Crow: Stairway to Heaven." None of the sequels was as well-received aa the orginal, the later two being released straight-to-DVD.
For the past few years, rumors have circulated that a reboot was in the works, starring Jason Momoa. Other actors linked to the project were Tom Hiddleston, Luke Evans, and Bradley Cooper.
At LA Comic Con 2017, it was announced that a reboot, entitled "The Crow: Reborn" is slated for a 2018, with production set to begin early in the year. James O'Barr is said to be working closely with the director Corin Hardy to produce a film that is more faithful to the original graphic novel story, hoping to get a 'hard R' rating.
"The Crow" is one of my all time favorite movies, and I am honestly pretty torn on this one. I don't feel that a remake or reboot is necassary as the original is perfect, in my opinion, and yet I am fascinated to see a darker new spin on it. I will watch it regardless, but I'm not sure they should mess with a masterpiece.
